A leading Logistics business based in Manchester are looking for an experienced Management Accountant. The Management Accountant will be required to supervise and motivate the UK reporting team, ensuring the timely production of financial information to senior management.

Management Accountant Responsibilities

  • Manage team of accountants, including day-to-day communication and motivation as well as succession planning and performance management
  • Ensure workload is fairly distributed.
  • Deputise for financial controller during absence
  • Engender an ideas rich environment (continuous improvement)
  • Provide a support service by working with all departments and the management team to help make financial decisions
  • Advising on the financial implications and consequences of business decisions
  • Interpreting and communicating financial data to non-financial managers
  • Manage the P&L reporting and ledger close off
  • Monitor all Balance Sheet reconciliations ensuring completion and adequate record keeping by all team members responsible.
  • VAT Returns and ensuring local statutory compliance
  • Submission of the external financial pack
  • High level commentary on the financial performance
  • Distribution of the local Management packs for UK
  • Co-ordination of budgeting process and timely submission to HQ
  • Co-ordination of the external audit process
  • Produce annual statutory statements
  • Develop an ongoing understanding of the systems and procedures of the whole Finance Department
  • Ensure that all work is in line with HQ policies and procedures

Requirements

  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA (or overseas equivalent)
  • Good German speaking skills
  • Good working knowledge of Management Accounting methodologies and techniques
  • Well-developed critical evaluation and analytical skills
  • Robust commercial acumen
  • Ability to operate autonomously, an inspiring self -starter demonstrating passion, energy and drive
  • Able to identify and implement initiatives to continually improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the department and service offering
  • Collaborative worker with a flexible approach able to adapt easily to change
  • Ability to translate a vision into achievable goals and provide clear direction to achieve organisational objectives
  • Inspire and motivate team members
  • Ability to lead by example to develop and maintain effective working relationships with a range of partners and stakeholders
  • Experience of working in management accounting within a dynamic organisation
  • Proven success of stakeholder engagement and management
