Financial Controller - 12 Month Contract - £75000

Working for this Central London Based high end retail brand, you will be responsible for the day to day running of the UK finance function which looks after over 70 stores and concessions UK wide.

Job Description:

• Responsible for production of monthly management accounts for the UK
• Review and challenge results with functional heads within the business
• Provide ad hoc analyses of financial information where appropriate
• Maintain UK cashflow models and manage forward cashflow
• Manage day to day relationship with external bankers
• Responsible for VAT and other tax filings
• Corporation tax filing preparation
• Manage annual audit with external auditors
• Responsible for maintenance of UK balance sheet
• Ensure team have all reconciliations up to date
• Ensure accounting records are kept up to date and maintained
• Regularly review and ensure key accounts books – debtors, creditors and cash – are kept clean and up to date
• Implement and introduce accounting controls where appropriate to ensure the company’s assets and liabilities are adequately managed
• Role currently has 3 Direct reports, Accounts Payable Manager, Treasury Assistant and Senior Financial Analyst
• Manage the team and ensure it is meeting the needs of the business
• Assist and support the Group Finance Controller in the provision of financial budgets and forecast for the UK business
• Ad hoc financial work on areas as appropriate

Skills/Experience:

• Qualified accountant with recognized body
• Experienced on Excel and other IT packages
• Experience in a medium sized company
• Previous experience in the retail industry is advantageous
• Well organised and professional
