Practice Accountant - Near Basingstoke - Permanent - up to £35000 + Benefits + Study + Parking


My client is a trusted and long-established firm of Chartered Certified Accountants based near Basingstoke. They are currently seeking an experienced Practice Accountant to join their busy Client Services Team on a permanent basis.

The firm is a specialist in the 'owner-managed businesses' sector. Helping sole-traders and SME's to start-up and providing them with pro-active, on-going accounting and advisory services. The firm's success is often measured by its ability to stimulate profitability and organic growth for their customers' business.

The job is to undertake an Account Manager role, with a focus on managing a client portfolio and responsibility for completing annual statutory accounts. Dealing with all queries that arise and providing an efficient, tailored service to the client's individual needs and requirements.

You will need to work with a high degree of autonomy and self-management. As a result you will ideally be qualified ACCA or part- qualified ACCA and have 3+ years' experience in a similar, client service type role.

Duties will include:
*Manage client portfolios as the main point of contact for day-to-day client matters
*Preparing Management Accounts
*Preparing Vat Returns and EC Sales lists
*Prepare financial review reports
*Maintaining client list of Accounts and Corporation Tax filing deadlines
*Set up and manage 3rd Party online tools for clients, such as Financial Dashboards
*Pro-actively managing client expectations by providing advance notice of deadlines
*Raise ad hoc bills and invoices as required
*Support other internal departments in their day-to-day working environment
*Provide client directors with regular updates

Candidate Specification:
*ACCA part-qualified
*Prior working knowledge of Statutory & Management Accounting Services with in an Accountancy practice
*Expertise in producing year end accounts, corporation tax filing, payroll and Financial reporting
*Specific experience of accountancy software Including IRIS, Sage, Xero
*Experience in a Client facing role including face-to face meetings, email, phone & on-line
*Strong communicator with attention to detail, speed and accuracy
*Good understanding of UK GAAP and FRS requirements
*Confident and outgoing personality with a focus on exceptional customer service
