Our client is one of the most highly regarded businesses in the North West and a rapidly expanding £1.7Bn t/o FTSE 100. An excellent career opportunity exists for a highly skilled, fully qualified accountant to join the business as Lead Management Accountant. Operating in a key role within the Finance Planning & Performance team your remit will include assisting in the preparation of the Group's consolidated results (including actuals, forecasts and budget & plan) and providing the Board with accurate, timely and value added information on financial performance. In this highly visible role your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparation of monthly consolidated accounts for actuals, forecasts and the annual budget and plan
  • Consolidated balance sheet and cash flow management.
  • Considerable interaction with Operations and finance teams regarding submissions, reviewing and challenging all financial information to ensure accuracy
  • Ownership of BPC financial systems, including input into control of structure (e.g. components, accounts and submissions), along with participation in training and disaster recovery testing.
  • Management and review of non-trading Company monthly entries.
  • Liaison with internal and external audit at half and full year.
  • Communicating effectively to other team members and Manager to ensure they are kept informed.
  • Continual process improvement.

Applicants will be fully qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA), and ideally graduates, with relevant post qualification experience suited to the remit outlined above- including a current knowledge of IFRS
You will have well-developed interpersonal & communication skills (written and verbal), strong analytical & presentational skills, a high degree of integrity - and a willingness to challenge financial information as required. You will also have the ability to work both autonomously/as part of a team and familiar with having to meet tight deadlines. Strong IT skills are essential and SAP and BPC systems experience would be advantageous.
