My client, a leading business services organisation based in Manchester City Centre is seeking a Senior Management Accountant / Finance Manager reporting into the Finance Director to lead the finance reporting team. This role will also act as a Business Partner for the heads of department across all functions ensuring the company's financial accounting, reporting and control activities are carried out efficiently, effectively and in line with best practice.

Key Activities

  • Work closely with the Finance Director to ensure the successful overall management of the group finance function
  • Prepare the management accounts (including all month end postings, balance sheet recs etc)
  • Preparation of the group finance board pack, including consolidated financial statements, commentary, variance and other ad-hoc analysis
  • Produce and manage group consolidated Cashflow
  • Produce and monitor financial covenants, including liaison with the bank
  • Preparation and submission of the quarterly VAT return & other periodic compliance reporting
  • Production of consolidated budgets and forecasts
  • Manage the year-end Audit (including preparation)
  • Manage Accounts team (3 direct reports - including ops manager with a team of 4)
  • Lead on various ad-hoc finance projects

Skills required/Personal Qualities

  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified
  • Commercial acumen with a good eye for detail
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to manage workloads in a fast paced environment and remain calm under pressure
  • Exceptional planning and organisational skills
  • High energy and enthusiasm, results oriented and able to deliver to deadlines
  • Advanced excel skills
  • Collaborative and supportive of others

This opportunity will ideally be looking for somebody immediately available, or with a notice of 2 weeks or less. The ideal start date would be October 31st, and so interviews will be week starting 17th and 24th October.
