Robert Half Finance & Accountancy are pleased to be supporting our client; a high growth SME business based in Hemel Hempstead, on the recruitment of an exciting newly created Financial Accountant position. This is a very varied role, partly technical, analysing the month end financials, owning the management reporting and KPI reporting and commercial as you will be supporting and challenging the Sales & Commercial Teams on monthly performance - pricing, margins and contracts. This recruitment is part of the succession planning and the opportunity exist for the successful candidate to aim for promotion to the Financial Controller position. The Financial Accountant will be initially be responsible for:
-Reviewing management accounts as part of the month end procedures and produce a report detailing the main variances to budget and / or forecast. The management accounts include full profit and loss analysis, by department, as well as breakdowns of key balance sheet accounts including stock, prepayments and accruals
-Production and distribution of robust and accurate daily, weekly, monthly and, where relevant, transactional, strategic management information. This should cover agreed KPIs (financial and non-financial) and key reporting areas such as sales, profitability and productivity (e.g. managerial profit and loss analysis; gross margin reports; product cost analysis; order volumes)
-Reviewing the monthly forecast pack
-Preparation of the annual budget pack, including upside and sensitivity analysis, for review by the senior management team
-Managing the preparation of the financial statements, including draft figures and supporting schedules
-Monitoring, reviewing and implementing improvements to the stock control process, including stock turn analysis, minimum re-ordering levels and the operational stock ordering process
-Monitoring product costs and supplier rebates and liaising with the purchasing manager to achieve maximum value through our supplier purchasing
-Writing reports from the operating and finance systems as required across the company
-Providing and monitoring ROI analysis on significant capital projects
-Ad-hoc projects as required
We are looking for an ACA or ACCA qualified accountant who is technically very strong and who has 2-6 years post qualified experience. You must be able to analyse the monthly management accounts, review and check the monthly results, highlight risks and own the monthly reporting process; management reporting and KPI reporting. You will be supporting the Sales and Account Management teams and so will need the commercial acumen to discuss pricing, margins, contract performance and to help drive profitability. This recruitment is part of the succession planning and the opportunity exist for the successful candidate to take on additional responsibilities and to gain promotion to the Financial Controller position.

Salary & Benefits
A highly competitive salary of £55,000 - 65,000 plus £4,4800 car allowance and bonus of up to 10% of basic salary.
