Arena Online - Financial Analyst
Reporting to: Financial Controller
Office: West London
Contract Term: 6 months
Arena Online Ltd is a young, growing and award-winning business delivering flowers and gifts across the UK and Europe. Arena purchases its flowers direct off the flower auctions in Holland and Kenya and then distributes them to customers across Europe as hand-tied bouquets. Arena's primary sales channels are its local language transactional websites, as well as a number of B2B partnerships. Arena plans to build on strong historic growth and is looking for an energetic and enthusiastic financial analyst.
Purpose of the role
To provide support within the firm’s finance department to the Financial Controller.
Main duties will include:
- Assistance in preparation of management accounts
- Updating KPIs report
- Updating forecast
- Preparation and posting month end journals
- Cost centre allocation
- Variance analysis
- Regular reconciliations
- Balance sheet reconciliation
- Reconciliation of key suppliers and B2B customers
- Ad hoc analysis and project work
- Reporting
- Preparation and submission of monthly Intrastat report
- Preparation and submission of quarterly Fairtrade report
- Assistance in preparation of yearly forecasts and budgets
Skills and qualifications required
- Proficiency in MS Excel (ideally familiar with data query/data management tools)
- Partial or full accountancy qualifications
- Sage 200 software knowledge
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, along with superior attention to detail
- An enquiring mind to question and challenge, as appropriate, on own initiative
- Positive team spirit is essential, must be willing to assist in other areas if workload allows. e.g. bookkeeping or operations during peak periods
- Ability to communicate at all levels
