European Financial Accountant

A leading international transport provider is looking for an accomplished and ambitious regional financial accountant to play a central technical role in leading and shaping their reporting at a time of significant growth.

As a European Financial Accountant, your main duty will be to manage the IFRS implementation through the UK/Europe region, and lead the development of reporting bridges to US and UK GAAP. The role presents a real opportunity to meaningfully contribute to a large and complex operation, during a period of growth and change. This opportunity is ideal for an ambitious and enthusiastic technical accountant, with a history of success.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Technically supporting the regions reporting in US GAAP and IFRS format
• Assessing the impact of IFRS and US GAAP changes
• Managing the quarterly audit reviews and statutory audits
• Preparing audit committee presentations
• Supporting the Financial Accountant
• Contributing to the monthly US GAAP reconciliation to IFRS reconciliation
• Involvement in ad-hoc commercial projects
• Supporting group reorganisation

Personal and Professional Competencies:

• Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent)
• Strong technical knowledge
• Ability to multitask and achieve high standards under pressure
• Excellent organisational and time management skills
• IT literate with advanced Microsoft Excel Skills
