Our well defined and growing SME client, part of a larger PLC group, a highly reputable player in their sector is currently looking to recruit a new Financial Controller. This is a rewarding and challenging opportunity to work in a fast moving, proactive and innovative UK business where you will be responsible for providing technical, value adding, financial and commercial support to the local and Group leadership teams.

The key responsibilities of this exciting and broad accounting and finance role will include all aspects of managing the smooth running and financial output of a cost focused circa £4-10 million turnover business; the preparation of weekly and monthly management accounts to a tight deadline; the preparation & filing of annual accounts (working in conjunction with group piers and the businesses firm of auditors) financial planning, budgeting & forecasting and the modeling of a new three year strategic business plan; to provide analysis and commentary of margin and sales variances; responsibility for all internal controls and the quality and accuracy of financial information; Payroll, VAT and intrastat as well as the management and development of a small finance team.

The successful candidate will be an ambitious and confident Qualified or Qualified by experience Company Accountant / Finance Manager / Financial Controller with strong interpersonal & communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively as well as independently. This role will require the successful candidate to challenge, facilitate and influence at all levels across the business. Strong spreadsheet, data manipulation and MS excel skills are also highly desirable as is any recent sector experience of working and being hands-on in a growing SME business.
