Finance Director

Due to some internal changes of responsibility our client is recruiting for a newly created Finance Director role which will report into the International CFO and have a strong European and APAC focus.

The role will be to lead the International Finance teams consisting of FP&A, Tax, Treasury, Group Reporting, Finance operations and Systems Finance.

The successful individual must have deep subject matter knowledge of the broad technical areas under their remit but will also possess a strong commercial brain with previous international experience ideally within a listed US business.

Key Priorities

• Shareholder management - Control of the numbers Internationally but also the ability to manage the expectations of the stakeholders who can be extremely demanding and challenging
• Managing the weekly capital expenditure requests and the business case approvals.
• Preparation for meetings. This individual needs a total grasp in what is happening in the business globally and can forecast what should happen in 3 - 12 months' time.
• Being the conduit between the regional businesses and the US and where necessary raising any red flags and highlighting any potential issues whilst being on top of any problems that arise.

Technical aspects

• Supporting the CER (capital expenditure requests) process through Business partnering the International CEO and CFO
• Preparation of financials for Monthly review with Group CFO (US)
• Management of the annual planning and budget cycles
• Review of the 3 year plan for each business unit
• Cash flow and treasury
• Forecasting and operational execution
• Line management and leadership of the International HQ finance team
• Control, Compliance and SOX
• Development and execution of Finance Systems across the business
• Mentoring of Country/cluster CFO's

Person and Experience

• An outstanding finance professional with the intellectual horsepower to influence the broad shareholder and leadership community both in the US and regionall
• An experienced International PLC candidate with commercial FD and technical controllership experience.
• Internationally savvy to manage the US shareholders who have extremely high standards and demands and the international community of regional businesses
• Transparent open style with natural gravitas and an ability to anticipate any issues or problems down the ro This requires not only a sharp degree of technical knowledge but also a commercial brain with experience to back it up.
