General Ledger Accountant

Your new role
You will be part of the European accounting team based in Maidenhead UK, with responsibility for General Ledger accounting for multiple legal entities in France. You will report to the Country Controller and liaise with local accounting teams both based in France. Your job will be to achieve an efficient and effective Business As Usual (BAU) practice within the GL Finance function


Key accountabilities
Month end journal preparation and processing for multiple legal entities - accruals/prepayments, payroll
Month end review and P&L review of AP transactions to determine reclassification
Preparation and submission of in country VAT returns
Preparation and submission of French social tax declarations ( URSSAF etc.)
Balance sheet reconciliation for multiple legal entities
Prepare files for auditors.


What you'll need to succeed
Proven multi-currency, multi-site, multi legal entity experience
Experience of using Sage X3 (preferred) or similar
Microsoft Excel skills at an intermediate level
Business proficient French language skills both oral and written
Experience of GL accounting for a French entity with a strong understanding of French accounting practices
Experience of working in a dynamic, growing organisation is an advantage
In depth knowledge of reconciliation
Experience and ability to work in a diverse multicultural environment both face to face
