Our client, a well known fashion retailer in Central London is looking for a Commercial Finance Manager to join the business and report to the Head of Finance.
Managing a Finance Analyst, this role will work closely with the Heads of Channels and Operational teams to facilitate the financial planning, reporting and decision making across the Retail and Digital operations. Focusing upon current performance, risks & opportunities and future business expansion. Ownership of the divisional P&Ls, with an in depth understanding of performance and its drivers. You will be responsible for the below;
- Responsible for weekly updates with the Head of Retail and will be the direct contact for Area Managers.
- Portfolio management - Working closely with Property & the Head of Retail to review existing sites and proposed opportunities. Responsible for capital expenditure including assessment of proposals, investment appraisal and post investment analysis, reporting on new stores and mods performance.
- Weekly and monthly reporting.
- Analysis of Regional, Area and Store performance to support key business decisions.
- Continually challenging reports produced to minimise time spent on non-value adding work.
- Responsible for store planning process; liaising closely with Area Managers, Branch Trading etc putting forward plans for sales, payroll and controllable costs.
- Responsible for the Retail P&L from sales down to contribution, with particular focus on the cost base, especially payroll, ensuring all controllable costs are appropriately managed, highlighting any risks and opportunities to stake holders.
- Working with and where appropriate challenging the Digital trade team to provide robust sales & stock forecasts.
- Track and challenge expenditure in the Digital cost centre, liaising with the budget holders on regularly.
You will need to be a qualified accountant ACA/ACCA/CIMA with experience of working in a fast paced, dynamic and commercial environment. You will need to be someone that picks things up quickly and can multi task frequently.
