Our Client is a large retail business based in Leeds and has a great opportunity for an experienced Assistant Accountant to join this very successful and well-known brand name to cover a maternity leave during approx. 9-12 months to start November 2016.
The duties of the role include:
*Ensuring the timely and accurate production of the monthly Management Accounts, including the calculation of relevant accruals and prepayments.
* Assisting in the planning cycles.
* Providing analysis of costs
* Production of the balance sheet, including analytical review for review by the Heads of department
* Assisting in the production of statutory accounts including timely response to all year- end audit queries.
* Production of accurate balance sheet reconciliations
* Being involved in ad hoc analysis and projects as required.
The successful candidate will preferably be studying for a Finance qualification and/or demonstrate good relevant experience in a Finance or Accounting environment and a full working knowledge of double entry accounting.
You will also demonstrate good knowledge of IT and ability to use complex formulas within daily tasks to manipulate data.
