Our client is a major credit card issuer requiring an EMEA Tax Accounting Manager based in Brighton. It is a permanent role paying base salary of £55-65k p.a
The Tax Accounting Manager will take ownership for delivering the income tax accounting processes in the EMEA Region ensuring full compliance with required reporting standards, to deadline. To make this happen you will need a very strong technical accounting background together with the ability to build and develop relationships with the broader Finance and Tax teams across all our EMEA markets providing consultation and advice to solve tax reporting matters.
Daily you'll be involved in:
- Preparing and reviewing the Company's EMEA related consolidated and legal entity tax provisions and tax financial statement disclosures
- Ensuring full compliance with ASC 740 accounting and reporting from a consolidated and separate legal entity subsidiary perspective.
- Ensuring that adequate Sarbanes Oxley documentation, support and controls are maintained.
- Engaging and leading an off-shore team based in India to ensure effective processing
- Regularly liaising and interacting with colleagues within Finance on matters including: SEC Reporting, Regulatory Reporting and Accounting Policy
- Working to support the Tax Accounting Director on projects and improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
We're seeking a qualified accountant with significant post qualified experience who has a strong technical understanding and interest in specialising in tax.
The successful candidate will bring:
- Experience of working in a larger professional practice firm or commercial organisation (financial services industry experience would be preferred)
- Working knowledge of different accounting and reporting standards across different jurisdictions
- Strong organisational, analytical and project management skills
- Strong communication skills and a passion for forging and developing strong working relationships with a range of stakeholders
- Advanced Excel skills
