Robert Half have been engaged by a Financial Services client to engage an Operational Risk Manager on a permanent basis.

Reporting to the Chief Risk Officer and managing a small team, you will be expected to maintain and operate an appropriate risk management culture and assist in the monitoring of the risk environment.

Location: Birmingham (Central)

Salary: £65,000 - £70,000 + benefits

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain company risk management plan including increasing risk awareness within the organisation, leading to the enhancement of the Risk Maturity Model.
  • Design and implement mechanisms for identifying the risk culture and awareness across the business, reporting the results and identifying improvement opportunities.
  • Collate and report risk MI including KRI, KPI and KCI information and operational loss and near miss reports from across the business..
  • Prepare, present for approval and deliver an annual Risk Monitoring plan.
  • Continually assess and manage the Operational risk MI data capture and reporting systems, ensuring they are efficient, effective and enable timely reporting and escalation processes and are in line with industry best practice.
  • Document, update and own the company's Operational loss policy ensuring it aligns to best practice and Regulatory requirements.
  • Be the Centre of Excellence for risk within company and build strong relationships with business areas to support their delivery within a risk aware culture.
  • Liaise with executive directors and senior management, with all matters concerning risk management, identifying risk and issues within business areas that may deflect from delivery of objectives.
