Due to pending retirement and business growth , a leading global business is now seeking an experienced Finance Manager to join it's team, based in Greater Manchester. This is a tremendous opportunity for someone seeking a progressive wide ranging role. You will be overseeing a large team, (4 direct reports), covering Payroll, Credit Control, Purchase Ledger and Financial Accounts and will work closely with the Financial Controller. As a manager you will provide support, training & advice to the members of the team to enable the department to run efficiently and effectively.

THE ROLE

* Working closely with the Financial Controller to assist with the production of financial and management information in an effective and timely manner.
* Managing procedures and controls, challenging internal processes and constantly seeking efficiency's across the company.
* Accurate management of the monthly accounts preparation and on time each month.
* Ensuring full reconciliation of all balance sheet/profit & loss items are completed as part of the month end process.
* Assist with External Audits and year end reporting.
* Identification of any system errors and implementation of procedures to prevent further issues.

THE PERSON

* You will have the ability to build relationships and work with a can-do attitude in a flexible and adaptive manner.
* You will be a quick learner and thinker and be able to work on your own initiative with minimum supervision required. You will be adaptable to a rapidly changing environment.
* You will have a confident approach in order to inform non-technical staff of their financial commitments.
* Carrying out of ad-hoc tasks as required.


KEY SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

* Experience of managing teams
* Excellent communication and organisational skills and be able to prioritise a busy workload
* Excellent attention to detail
* Strong Excel skills are a pre-requisite
* Strong people management skills
