Head of Financial Accounting & Operations, Media
West London / Middlesex

An outstanding opportunity to join a dynamic media organisation based in West London as Head of Financial Accounting and Operations. The business continues to expand both through organic growth and acquisition with a primary focus on international development. This is a high profile role and will join a fun and down to earth Senior Finance Team providing support to both the Group Financial Controller and CFO.
We are seeking a high calibre (ideally Big 4 trained) ACA with post qualified experience gained in a commercial 'Start-Up', SME or rapidly growing organisation which has required processes to be built and improved, structure and rigour brought in, not just experience in a steady state, business as usual / narrow scope position in larger corporate.
The role will manage a team of 5 direct, remote reports (Shared Service Managers) and candidates will have the scope for global travel to various operations in Europe and the US and as such any international experience will be considered advantageous. Due to the nature of the position the potential to work from home / flexible working on occasions is available.
Key responsibilities include:
-Proactively manage the relationship between the Group finance function and the Group's finance shared service centres for all performance matters;
-Initiate and coordinate continuous improvement of all end to end processes for Record to Report (R2R) Order to Cash (OTC) and Purchase to Pay activities (P2P) as well as ensuring a quality output from the shared service centres;
-Have responsibility for, and drive improvement, of working capital management including championing working capital management throughout the organisation and department in a sustainable and commercial manner
-Ensure the underlying transactions are recorded in a timely and accurate manner and there are no surprises in the monthly management accounts and balance sheets
-Own and develop the newly created and implemented Financial Accounting system and expand this to all legal entities throughout the world
-Manage change throughout finance, bringing all countries and divisions in-line with the group's finance policy and procedures
The successful candidate will be driven, ambitious and looking to progress. For the right person this will represent a significant but hugely exciting challenge in the context of an entrepreneurial but extremely well-run and fast-growing business.
We are seeking a sharp, self-starter who is able to work with minimal supervision. The successful candidate will be a likeable and confident character, able to get on with a variety of stakeholders in the UK and Internationally!
If you have an interest in systems and processes this will help as you strive to get the best out of the newly implemented, cloud based finance system.
You will ideally be Big 4 Trained (other relevant backgrounds will be considered) with ideally c3-6 year's post qualification experience including a strong Financial Accounting and Operational finance background and knowledge of Audit / Risk. Experience of good working capital practices is desirable as are systems knowledge / improvement experience.
