My client is a blue chiop organisation based in the heart of the Midlands.

Due to internal changes they now have an immediate requirement for a qualified Financial Controller to join their business on a permanent basis.

As a business they have implemented a new structure at Senior Management level which has given them an exciting new vision and anbitious strategy for growth organically and by acquisition.

This role forms part of the Senior Management team and offers the post holder complete visibility and ownership of the finance process and as such holds a very prominent postion within the group and allows the post holder to build their profile internally.

This role will be suited to someone who is willing and able to work at a fast pace, the role is demanding but the rewards will be high.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Divisional Controller this position requires a strong mix of reporting, analysis and systems capabilities and will add significant value across the business.

The primary focus will be to present analytical findings and financial information with credibility and clarity across the business.

A limited amount of global travel will be required.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ownership and development of the management information reporting against a stringent corporate reporting timetable, including:
    • Monthly management information and commentaries to the Board
    • Non-financial KPI reporting
    • Weekly, monthly, quarterly, half-year, and annual requirements.
  • Manage the development, process and outputs in relation to the Division's forecasting cycles including:
    • Quarterly Forecast processes
    • Annual Budget process
  • Act as a key point of contact for financial issues .
  • Work closely with the finance teams across the globe ensuring that all requirements are understood and delivered on time to exceptionally high standards.
  • Analyse and understand the cause of variances in actual performance against plan.
  • Support preparation or analysis of business cases related to new business opportunities, capital investments proposals etc.
  • Other duties / projects as may be required

EXPERTISE REQUIRED:

  • Good working knowledge of financial practices and IFRS essential.
  • Confident and ambitious with excellent analytical, organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to produce under pressure, to a high degree of accuracy, with absolute attention to detail in this fast paced environment.
  • Extensive IT skills including advanced Excel, Powerpoint and ideally Access. Experience of high volume data manipulation and analysis within a multi-site industrial / engineering international organization. Experience with Cognos Controller or similar consolidation applications.
  • Previous experience communicating with overseas operations and dealing with multiple currencies.
  • Experience working in both a business unit and head office setting useful.
  • Previous team management experience is desirable (but not essential).

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Qualified Accountant (Chartered Accountant or equivalent) plus c4 years post qualification experience as a minimum.
  • Educated to degree level.
  • Experience of a commercial management accounting environment.
  • Fluent English essential both spoken and written.
