My client is a well established specialist manufacturing and wholesale business operating both in the UK and overseas. Established for over 30 years the business turnover is in excess of £20 million with an exciting business plan for the next phase of growth.
To support this, the Directors have identified the need for an increase in the professionalism and support of an organised and commercial finance function and, having recruited a highly experienced, part time Finance Director, they now seek a proven Finance Manager / Controller to support the FD and assist the existing finance team to improve processes and their development. The team is hard working and enthusiastic and are keen to be developed.
The first few weeks of your role will involve assisting the team in ensuring transactions processing and reconciliations are upto date, at which time you can review and improve existing processes and procedures. You will also be able to review and improve cash and bank processes - there are multiple, multi-currency, accounts - and establish regular cashflow forecasting and reporting. You will also be responsible for assisting the FD in the production of the monthly management accounts as well as partnering with the business to develop the month end pack to aid the effective and speedy strategic decision making of the Directors.
The successful candidate will be an experienced finance professional who is strong on processes and procedures and can see the progress towards a clear, shared vision. You will also be commercial and capable of taking ownership of the reporting to add real value to the business. Experience of import / export (multi-currency) and invoice discounting are a major advantage as is knowledge of Sage 50. Experience and ability is more important than qualification.
