Financial Controller

A global media company are looking for a Financial controller to work closely with the Head of Finance looking after the day to day activities in finance including overseeing month end, balance sheet reconciliations and VAT returns. This role will help implement and maintain all financial controls along with identifying and recommending potential operational efficiencies and improvements to working practices and procedures. This will be managing and mentoring a team and playing a large part of career development.

Duties and responsibilities include:

• Have regular meetings with the Heads of Departments to talk through finances for each dept
• Review all outputs from Finance.
• Ensuring appropriate systems and internal controls are implemented and maintained
• Track and reconcile group intangible asset balances.
• Overseeing payroll process
• Preparation of VAT returns
• Reconciliation of Bank.
• Monthly Management accounts deadline are maintained.
• Ensuring all the projects are running at the budgeted recoverable margins.
• Management of the finance function and overseeing the finance team.
• Preparation of budgets and reforecasts.
• Preparation of Cash flow forecasts on a regular basis

Required skills and experience:

• Must be a Qualified Chartered Accountant.
• Production experience is desirable, either in TVC, branded or TV.
• Managing qualified accountants and proven record of mentoring and developing a team.
• Developing business systems including Purchase Orders, time tracking systems, ERP & chart of account development.
• Reviewing multiple entity balance sheet recs, month end accounts, project P&Ls.
