Tax Accountant

Aston Murray is currently recruiting a Tax Accountant for a growing pharmaceutical business based in Burton On Trent.

This Tax Accountant position will report to the Tax and Treasury manager.

Responsibilities will include;

·       Coordinating the annual process for the preparation of UK and US corporation tax computations and ensure returns are submitted on time;

·       Assist with the preparation of tax entries for half year and full year Group consolidated accounts, and UK statutory accounts;

·       Assist with the review of procedures and controls across all relevant UK taxes to support SAO reporting and implement identified improvements;

·       Preparation and maintenance of annual Patent Box claims;

·       Assist with the implementation and maintenance of the Groups transfer pricing policies;

·       Prepare the annual UK P11D and PSA returns and work with the Finance and HR teams to identify and eliminate PAYE/NI risks;

·       Assist with research and implementation of tax planning projects, including but not limited to compliance and reporting, transfer pricing policy and documentation, group structure planning, and new ventures and acquisitions;

·       Provide support to the business to advise on tax issues effecting new contracts and trading opportunities and suggest potential solutions or alternatives; 

·       Support the Tax Manager with HMRC investigations, claims and elections.

You must be a qualified accountant to be considered for this position. The ideal candidate will have a tax accounting background, a working knowledge of all aspects of direct and indirect taxation and experience in a similar role or practice environment.

Good communication skills and excel skills are a given.

You must have a willingness to travel occasionally within the UK.

This permanent Tax Accountant role is paying £25K-£30K depending on experience plus bonus and pension
