Finance Director
Suffolk

An exciting opportunity to join a highly respected business due to the retirement of the current Finance Director, to work closely with the rest of the Board. The business is well-run and stable, with excellent long term prospects. This role will focus on strong financial control and stewardship, strategic financial planning, further integration and development of the ERP systems, ensuring robust financial processes are in place as well as overseeing the IT, Company Secretarial and Shipping function.
The role
The successful candidate will be expected to take responsibility for the following:
• Contribute fully to the development of the Group strategy and forward planning across all areas of the business, challenging assumptions and decision-making as appropriate and providing financial analysis and guidance
• Provide leadership across Finance, IT, Shipping and Retail operations - circa 13 staff
• Provide overall control of the Group's accounting, audit and tax processes
• Manage the audit, banking and solicitor relationships
• Oversee monthly management accounting and financial reporting, presenting results to the Board
• Working closely with the Factory manager on stock and cost control
• Ensure financial systems are robust and compliant, to support efficiency and future growth
• Work with Senior teams across the business on growth strategies
• Drive cultural and business change as a pivotal Board member
• Oversee the Company Secretarial function
• Oversee IT function, supporting with system enhancements and upgrades
Person Specification
The successful applicant to be able to demonstrate the following:
• Solid experience from within the manufacturing sector is essential
• Qualified member of an accountancy body - CIMA is a preference
• Commercially astute, articulate, technically strong, insightful and influential leader with the ability to operate at both strategic and operational levels.
• Experience in the effective operation of a Board of Directors
• Excellent technical and commercial accounting experience
• Exceptionally strong communication skills at all levels
• High integrity and openness combined with commitment to good governance
• Strong IT skills to include experience of ERP systems
