Sellick Partnership is working with a well-established and respected Public Sector Assurance specialist, who have an extensive client base throughout the North West. They are currently looking to appoint an experienced auditor at Assistant Manager level, to lead and deliver a wide range of cutting edge assignments. The Responsibilities:
Planning and project managing all aspects of audits including:
- Staffing Risk assessment teams and relevant systems, planning and implementing controls and testing
- Ensuring all projects are in compliance with internal standards as well as regulatory auditing requirements
- Taking ownership of budgeting and monitoring the financial performance of projects, with a view to optimise profitability
- Leading teams on the ground, acting as a direct point of contact for clients and your team. Working closely with senior management and the assignment engagement lead to resolve any unforeseen issues
- Building relationships with key client contacts and acting as an ambassador for the firm.
- Utilising your knowledge of your client organisation to identify suitable opportunities whereby the firm can add value and develop new business, as well as offer advice to improve the organisations own management of finances
- Report writing for Audit Committees and senior management
- You will be encouraged to think of new and innovative ways in which you can help improve processes and add real value - it is an environment that fosters real 'innovative' drive
Qualifications and Requirements:
- CIPFA, ACA, ACCA qualified or equivalent (exam qualified candidates will be considered)
- Strong IT literacy
Required experience and skills:
- Experience of public sector / not for profit assurance
- Internal audit experience also considered
- Strong technical skills
- Confidence to take ownership and responsibility for your own projects
- A focused attention to detail, being organised is a necessity as well as clear commitment to quality
- A willingness to take on additional responsibility and opportunities and a commitment to personal development
- Leadership skills and the ability to act as a role model for your team
- Drive and resilience and the ability to thrive in a pressured environment
- Relationship building skills
- Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken
Package and Benefits:
Package between £36,000 to £45,000 pa DOE which includes a strong basic salary, additional flexible benefits (which can be taken as cash) and a strong bonus scheme.
