Partner Financial are currently working with a FTSE listed Media/Entertainment group based in central London. The group brings together a unique blend of creative experts across digital marketing, publishing, insight, digital content, events and much more. The group has ambitious growth plans for the next 3-5 years and finance plays a key part in the strategic planning of the organisation.

The Group Financial Controller position will provide an exciting and challenging opportunity to join an ambitious and innovative business which is focused on delivering rapid growth across a number of its business units both domestically and internationally. The Group Financial Controller position is a crucial role within the group and will act as a number two for the Chief Financial Officer across a number of areas including leading on a group wide finance transformation project.  You will lead a finance team of up to 25, have full responsibility for all board, year-end reporting and the production of the annual report.  Alongside this the role will be responsible for leading on a number of projects across the individual entities within the group covering things such as margin analysis, systems development, integration of acquisitions and other operational efficiencies.

The client is looking for an ambitious individual who can build relationships outside of finance, is able to influence and ultimately add value and deliver results.

Key responsibilities will be:

  • Leadership and support to the CFO, Executive Team and the central finance team ensuring that the controls, systems, processes and team are positioned to provide accurate, timely data, both internally and externally
  • Management of central finance team to deliver
    • PLC statutory reporting, including audit and compliance
    • Accurate and high quality consolidated reporting to deadline
    • Business unit information including monthly management accounts, budgets, re-forecasts and KPI analysis
    • Overall consolidation and group management reporting process
  • Preparation of city analysis as briefed by the CFO, to support roadshow
  • Support across acquisitions including due diligence, financing and integration
  • Preparing Group company budgets and forecasts, and consolidation of subsidiaries. Introduce flash reporting and rolling forecasts
  • Support the CFO in key initiatives such as new systems deployment, design of new financial operation model and legal entity rationalisation
  • Manage tax and treasury matters
  • Establish a culture of continuous improvement

The successful candidate will possess the following:

  • Practice trained ACA
  • Strong IFRS/PLC reporting experience
  • Strong leadership and development of large teams
  • Systems integration/implementation experience
  • Debt finance – modelling, covenant reporting
  • The appetite to be involved in a multitude of projects and a desire to continuously develop the finance function
