Accounts Assistant

Elevation Accountancy & Finance are currently seeking a confident Accounts Assistant for a well established manufacturing business in the heart of Derbyshire. This is a fantastic opportunity for a candidate who is keen to further their career and experience within a commercial setting.

Reporting to the Financial Controller you will be instrumental in providing effective day to day accounts support across all aspects of the finance department.

Duties to include:-

*Responding to enquiries and handling correspondence with external suppliers
*Maintain supplier records via the business system
*To liaise both with external suppliers and internal departments to resolve issues and improve business understanding
*Processing supplier invoices for the preparation of payment
*Preparation of EC sales and Intrastat reporting
*Checking and reconciling supplier statements
*Processing all staff expenses
*Maintenance of petty cash and foreign currency float
*Provide support to update and maintain the standard costing system
*Assist with the stock take and inventory control procedures
*Management of the company stationery issuing and inventory control
*Aid in the preparation of project closure meetings
*Provide support and cover for the monthly payroll process and annual P11d disclosures
*To support/cover where necessary for the Finance Team to achieve its goals at the request of the Director of Finance

To be successful you MUST have the following skills and attributes:

- 2+ years relevant experience in accounts
- Graduate calibre or AAT qualified
- Flexible approach to work
- Good attention to detail
- Good administration and organisational skills
- Team player
- IT literate
- Excellent communication skills
- The ability to build rapport
- Able to work to tight deadlines, acting on own initiative is also very important
