Outstanding Career Opportunity for a Qualified CIMA/ACCA or ACA Accountant to join a hugely successfully and highly regarded £40m t/o SME in a role which will shadow the incumbent Financial Controller who will then be initially going part time and then ultimately retiring in 18 months. Operating in modern and impressive offices, just outside Liverpool city centre, you will report directly to the Finance Director, who focusses more on operation & business strategy than finance, in a broad & autonomous, essentially No 1 in finance, role with a remit which will include:

  • Monthly Management Accounts, Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet
  • Financial KPI reporting
  • Sales & Margin analysis and reporting
  • Departmental P&L analysis
  • Budgeting & Forecasting
  • Developing modern and effective financial processes, controls & systems
  • Preparing reports, budgets, commentaries & financial statements
  • Stock Provisions
  • Banking
  • Quarterly VAT returns
  • First point of contact for Banks and Auditors
  • PAYE and NI
  • Payroll
  • PL Payment
  • Cash Book
  • Supervision of the small finance team

Applicants will preferably be Fully Qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA Finance Manager/Financial Controllers although applicants who are not qualified but have operated in a similar profile role may also be considered. You will have solid technical finance competencies spanning accounting, reporting and developing financial controls & processes. You will also be an effective communicator and a driven individual with a desire to achieve the highest standards and results possible. Proficiency MS Dynamics would be advantageous.
