Financial Accountant

International "Household" brand in Gloucestershire seeks a Financial Accountant to join at a time of significant change and growth..

As the Financial Accountant, you will be responsible for ensuring financial controls under US GAAP during the transition of ERP and Standard Chart of Accounts. Although initially a 6 month FTC, due to considerable growth there is potential opportunity for extension / permanent role.

Key Responsibilities:

- Manage and complete the transformation of tasks within your remit to the Global Operations team.

- Own, plan & execute key strategic projects including implementation of the new Enterprise Standard Chart of Accounts, transferring GL balances & Pillar Applications from legacy GL systems to the strategic ERP.

- Responsible for the process design, accounting & controls for multiple sites.

- Supporting the European Team leader at month ends and quarter ends to close the books in the most efficient manner possible

- Thoroughly analyse & understand balance sheet to drive operating performance in the business.

- Retain ownership of complex monthly and quarterly Balance Sheet Reconciliations as required.

- Write technical papers where required on arising accounting matters.

- Ad hoc reporting requirements as required.

Essential Requirements:

- Qualified Accountant ACA/ACCA/CIMA

- Strong grasp of the fundamentals of Financial Accounting

- Ability to influence change and demonstrate initiative. 

- Flexible work style, ability to work under pressure in a fast paced environment.  Be able to work to tight deadlines and adapt your working patterns accordingly

- Strong/Advanced Microsoft Excel skills

Salary:

£40,000 - £50,000 (Pro Rata)
