My client is a leading Financial Services business based in Uxbridge who are recruiting for a Head of Credit to join the team. This is a crucial role within the business and this role will be responsible for developing and maintaining a Lending Policy and other procedures to ensure that the level of risk is acceptable to the company. You will also act as relationship manager with third part service providers in relation to credit.

For this role it is key for someone to have direct mortgage experience and be able to analyse a portfolio and know what to look out for.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain the Company's Lending policy ensuring risks are understood and communicated in any proposed changes
  • Monitor the mortgage market to ensure the lending policy and criteria remain competitive
  • Maintain effective relationships with any funders
  • Manage the development and implementation of any scoring and decision systems
  • Monitor and report on the effectiveness of scoring and decision systems
  • Work with the Company's analytics function to ensure accurate and informative modelling output is created and used in informing any required change
  • Actively promote an environment where "continuous improvement" is an integral part of the culture
  • Manage the relationships with third party suppliers of credit services
  • Manage, positively motivate, coach and develop all direct reports and ensure that direct reports adopt the same principles for their own staff
  • Monitor the performance (including productivity) of all direct reports and ensure that appropriate action is taken in cases where the specified standards (including behavioural) are not met
  • Provide management information on the performance of the mortgage portfolio
  • Prepare budgets, forecasts and comparative financial performance data for the Credit function
  • Work with the Company's QA function in ensuring that appropriate levels of coverage are achieved in reviewing compliance with policies and procedures including reviews of underwriting decisions
  • Pro-actively contribute to the strategic development of the Company's business as well as the day to day operational issues
  • Contribute to the ongoing development and enhancement of Pepper systems to ensure Pepper develops and maintains a market lead

  • Consideration of TCF and outcomes in all aspects of strategic planning
