Audit/ Accounts Senior

Our client an award winning business and advisory and accountancy group based in Blackburn are currently recruiting for an:-

Audit/ Accounts Senior, salary paying between £33,000 - £48,000, dependent upon experience

They are based in a modern, town centre office facility which is easily accessible from the motorway network and with ample parking.

You will be joining a high performing, committed team of highly experienced business and accountancy practioners and the successful candidate will be committed to maintaining and developing their impeccable reputation.

As a specialist provider of business advice to family run and owner managed businesses, they provide a range of services including:

Accounts, Audit, Business Support & Outsourcing, Corporate Finance, Business Tax and VAT, Payroll, Forensic Accountancy and IT consultancy.

The overall audit and accounts team is 30 strong. The primary focus of the role is audit as they have a number of significant audit clients in East Lancashire with turnovers upto £150m with profit of £15m. This is the top end of the scale although the majority are highly successful family owned businesses with turnovers of between £10-50m.
Year ends range throughout the year although there is a higher concentration of December year ends which are completed generally by the end of April.

They do aim to provide a variety of work and capable candidates will be given other ad-hoc assignments to get involved in.

Key Responsibilities as Audit & Accounts Senior will include:

• Working between Audits and Accounts
• Planning, leading, performing and taking part in the audits
• Working with Managers, Senior Managers and Directors as the need arises
• Producing detailed and accurate working papers
• Conducting and/ or participating in special investigations as required
• Providing accounting services in support of audit and other clients, including the preparation of consolidated and more complex statutory accounts
• Preparation of consolidated financial statements under UK GAAP
• Corporation tax computations

The ideal Audit & Accounts Senior Must;

• Be ACA or ACCA qualified with upto 5 years Post qualification experience although this is not set in stone
• Recent audit experience within SME sector as opposed to public company experience
• Completion of audit to R.I. review level would be ideal, but not a pre-requisite
• Have experience in a similar role
• Have advanced Excel skills and a good working knowledge of various software packages including computerised audit software
• Possess the ability to communicate effectively with clients
• Personable, team-player and self-motivated
