Large International General Insurer is looking to hire a permanent IT Consultant for their London based team. This is an integral hire to the business and whilst the job title is IT Governance Consultant, the main focus of the role will see you managing the IT budget for the business c. £30 - 40 million. Due to the financial management focus of the role you will need to not only have proven IT budget management and financial management experience but this must also be alongside an actual IT background either working within an IT capacity or IT organisation.
There is no people management within this role, although you will be working closely with the steering committee and other people across the business relating to IT budget management for the Company.
The company is in its' next key phase of development and have many exciting projects planned. This is why this role is integral, as many of these projects will require strong IT participation and development. Therefore they are looking for you to have strong structured IT project management and business continuity planning experience alongside budget and financial management.
This is not just focused on their UK business as you will be engaged with the international offices as well and there will be some travel dependent on the projects themselves.
Should you have experience in or an understanding of the general insurance or reinsurance market this would be highly desirable, although not essential.
