Management Accountant

An incredibly prestigious and well renowned accountancy practice are looking to hire a Management Accountant. The job has arisen due to my client's remarkable growth over the last 18 months (including winning several new contracts). My client has a preference for candidates who are pursuing an accountancy qualification, i.e. ACA or ACCA.

Candidates should have 2-4 years' relevant finance experience within a fast paced environment. It is imperative that you have VAT and corporation tax experience. Please don't apply for this role if you have no tax experience.

The role will be reporting in to the CFO and the duties include preparing statutory accounts, sole trader and partnership accounts, VAT and corporation tax returns. You must be able to investigate anomalies with general ledger codes and be able to explain the reasons for the difference.

Candidates will also have to be comfortable doing transactional duties, i.e. maintaining the accounts payable function, bank reconciliations and cash management. It's a very dynamic working environment and candidates must demonstrate previous experience of scrutinising and reviewing processes.

You should be a very engaging, assertive and confident in person. The role includes some client facing duties, so you need to be somebody who can converse with people at all levels of the business. Candidates need to be strong enough to challenge senior managers and stakeholders. The CFO sits on the Board and you will be able to translate your ideas to very senior and influential members of staff.

There is a significant amount of Excel use in the role, so candidates should be confident building pivot tables and v-look ups from scratch. Exposure to macros would be an excellent bonus. Relevant finance experience within financial services is highly desirable.
