Financial Controller

Medium sized Global Bank with long standing operations in the UK and Europe seeks the talents of an experienced Financial Controller for a pivotal senior leadership role in their London office. The company are a well known corporate and wholesale Bank with a sizeable book of business in Europe. All basic accounting and processing is handled by a centralised offshore team, freeing up London finance to focus on adding value and owning all local business and front office relationships.

This new role will focus on oversight for all financial and regulatory reporting across EMEA and include management of a small team of qualified accountants. This will include reviewing all relevant internal and external reporting packs, presenting results to the business and supporting the local ExCo and CEO with ad hoc queries alongside acting as the primary point of contact for regulators. The role is still relatively hands on and would suit someone who is also comfortable working in a reasonably autonomous role. Also key to the position is the need for someone who is keen to manage, lead and motivate a small team during a period of change that will include significant finance transformation work.

The ideal candidate is likely to be qualified (ACA, ACCA or equivalent) with a decent amount of post qualification experience in a financial and/or regulatory reporting orientated role. Prior experience in the Banking sector is also essential given the technical nature of the role.
