Cost Accountant

The successful Cost Accountant will have previous proven experience of working in a manufacturing production environment and be able to demonstrate competency and ability to perform the key tasks within the role; including:

• Assisting with the preparation of Monthly Management Accounts to strict deadlines
• Sales & Cost of Sales Accounting
• Reconciliation of Sales and Margin
• Maintaining Standard Costs
• Maintaining Stock Valuations
• Co-ordinating financial aspects of Stocktakes
• Variance Analysis
• Integrity of Nominal ledger postings
• Investment Control (approvals and spend)
• Management and KPI reporting
• Sales & Margins
• Stock usage and scrap
• Obsolete & slow moving stock
• Cost Centre Reporting
• Assist with Annual Budget and Periodic Forecast preparation
• Assist with annual audit preparation and liaise with on-site auditors
• Compliance with Group Finance instructions and GAAP

The Person

The successful Cost Accountant will be:

• A confident communicator across all channels and levels able to build relationships with key stakeholders across the business
• A qualified or part qualified ACCA, ACA, CIMA accountant with previous experience of working in manufacturing
• An excellent communicator; both verbal and written communication
• A strong team player; able to liaise with internal and external customers
• Have a diligent and methodical approach with the ability to solve problems and create solutions
