My client is a large services business based in Crewe. They have been in a market leading position for many years and have continued to strengthen their position with recent overseas expansion.
They are currently seeking a new Head of Finance to provide overall management of the finance department with 4 direct reports and a wider team of 12.

Responsibilities will include:
• Manage the Finance department, train and develop staff to work independently.
• Manage the SG&A – overheads & salaries, looking to drive savings where possible
• Control cash-flow to minimize interest charges and improve future forecasting.
• Oversee the month end process, ensuring all exposure and risk is provided for and any areas of concern are identified in advance and action plans formed.
• Review and control all balance sheet reconciliations.
• Complete year end accounts and liaise with external auditors.
• Manage relationship with external finance providers, including overseeing daily invoice uploads & drawdowns, monthly management accounts, monthly reconciliations and quarterly audits.
• Review & sign off all business payments.
• Review & sign off sales order & purchase orders as appropriate.
• Review of working capital, identifying what changes can be made to reduce the level of working capital used in the business, aiming to improve overall profitability.
• Ongoing review of Management Information with the view to implement new systems and processes to provide timely and useful information throughout the business.
• Ad-hoc presentations and involvement in historic reporting and future forecasting.

Applicants must be fully qualified ACA/CIMA/ACCA with a strong track record of delivering high quality reporting within a demanding and pressurized, deadline driven organization.
Applicants will ideally come from either a Finance Manager/Financial Controller position in industry or could be a Manager/Senior Manager from a Top 10 accountancy practice looking for their first move into industry.

Candidates must possess good communication skills and the confidence to share information at all levels across the business. You must also be IT literate, possessing good ERP & Excel skills and prior use of PowerPoint would be advantageous but not essential.
