Financial Controller - Real Estate. Our Client is an established, commercial international real estate investment firm. Their current AUM is just under €3 billion and the assets are spread across UK and Europe. They are active within the commercial real estate markets and have shown significant growth over the years. They are now looking for an experienced and commercial Financial Controller to join their dynamic and professional company.

 

The Role will incorporate the following responsibilities but not be limited to:

  • Supporting the Partners in ensuring they meet their tax filing requirements.
  • Liaising with the external tax advisors to analyse potential tax liabilities between US and UK tax regimes.
  • Reviewing the tax returns with the Partners' and tax advisors.
  • Ensuring that all the company/partnership tax filing requirements are met.
  • Overseeing the preparation of the tax returns and quality assurance.
  • Liaising with the HMRC investigations and ad hoc queries.
  • Forecasting business profits, taxes, required investment, cash flow (business and co-investment in the funds) and costs.
  • Preparing a weekly cash report for the CFO and partners.
  • Responsible for oversight of the accounts preparation for entities located in UK, Jersey and Luxembourg (those related to the incentive structure) and the audit process.
  • FCA reporting - overseeing of the third party service providers who prepare the reporting; thorough review of the reporting; and submission of the FCA reporting.
  • Preparing and submitting of the AIFMD reporting.
  • Ensuring that the investor relations team are aware of the business requirements for KYC / tax residence information.
  • Preparing of the reporting to the various tax authorities in domiciles where the entities are located.
  • Overseeing of the submission process to the FATCA/CDOT/CRS tax authorities.

 

The Person MUST be qualified accountant, ideally ACA/CA and will ideally have experience of working within a real estate or private equity investment or fund environment (industry or practice). Sound knowledge and experience of tax (corporation, partnership and personal tax) and operational accounts financial control along with strong technical accounting skills - understanding of complex fund structures will be helpful. The incumbent will be a highly numerate individual with strong analytical skills and have attention to detail. This roles offers a chance to work for a fluid business where one can make a difference. Solid interpersonal and management skills are needed as there will be different levels of communication both internally and externally.
