A newly created job opportunity for a Commercial & Finance Manager who will be responsible for the overall commercial and financial performance of a specific commercial business unit within this large and established organisation.
This is a senior strategic leadership role leading the commercial delivery function as well as managing and reporting on the financial position of the division.
It requires a strong leader with a professional qualification who has worked a strategic level shaping company strategy and who has managed contracts and worked in close partnership on joint projects with other stakeholder organisations.
Leading the commercial and financial delivery function within the business unit the Commercial & Finance Manager will manage and report on the financial position of the business unit, play a leading role when developing a target cost approach, ensure that the contract upon which key stakeholders are bound is widely understood and used to promote success, drive contract efficiencies and highlight opportunities for further improvement as well as support the implementation of business improvement initiatives to improve contract performance.
Setting high standards for yourself and the team of eight that you will oversee, you will manage a large operational budget and continuously drive financial and commercial performance. As a strong communicator and an effective leader you will be able to provide clear direction and deliver strategy whilst collaborating and influencing stakeholders at all levels. Educated to degree level or the equivalent you will need to have a professional qualification from a recognised commercial body as well as proven management experience, preferably within a commercial contracting environment. You will need to have worked at a senior level shaping company strategy and also have a good understanding of the Alliancing environment and working in close partnership with other stakeholder businesses on joint projects. With this in mind, a background from within telecoms, utilities, construction, etc. would be a distinct advantage.
