An expanding Manufacturing business based in Blackburn require an interim Financial Controller for a 3-4 month period. This role is paying between £250 - £275 per day and is an immediate start.

You will gain a unique level of autonomy, including partnering with colleagues in the company's management team and challenging business change with a view to growing the top and bottom line of the profit & loss account. You will have exposure to senior stakeholders both internally and externally and be comfortable in the delivery of informative data with the view to assisting in the continued growth of revenues and profits.

The key responsibilities of the Financial Controller role will include:

  • Deliver the financial reporting to monthly timetable, coordinating monthly internal reporting, budgeting and forecasting process from the different UK sites
  • Responsible for analysis of company performance with investigative results summary commentaries on financial performance
  • Lead the preparation of statutory accounts including all numbers and other data for the disclosures within the accounts
  • Proven expertise in the preparation of statutory accounts is preferred, operating as a technical accounting lead for the organisation
  • Support the process improvement initiatives across the organisation, developing and implementing improved internal controls, in particular within the reporting systems and accounting processes
  • Responsible for budgeting; consolidating numbers, preparing templates, distributing templates, organising reporting in accounting system
  • Lead the production of detailed quarterly re-forecasts
  • Prepare analysis for company strategic decisions including five year plans, "what if" scenarios and benchmarking exercises
  • Responsible for controlling all bank transactions, including supplier and payroll payments

You will have:

  • Proven financial control experience gained in a fast moving commercially focused manufacturing business
  • Organised and task orientated working style
  • Good team worker with strong communication, delegation, interpersonal and numerical skills
  • A skilled change agent who can evidence successfully effecting change and bringing best practice into a business
  • Proven communication skills
  • Comfortable working with stakeholders at all levels within the business
  • Culturally sensitive approach to team and peer management with the ability to manage conflict and take a strong lead where necessary
  • A keen eye for detail and a quality focused approach to producing accurate numerical and written report work are essential
  • Technically strong. ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualification preferred
  • Strong and competent user of MS Office with particular emphasis on spreadsheet proficiency
