Financial Controller

As a direct result of a recent acquisition, this highly recognisable brand name and rapidly expanding leisure and retail are looking to appoint a talented and highly motivated senior finance professional. This is a newly created position.

Reporting to the Finance Director, the primary focus of this exciting opportunity is to devise and create a robust and highly efficient finance function able to cope effectively with growth and lead a finance integration project. It is anticipated that you will overhaul and improve the entire existing reporting process, lead and mentor the finance team and strive to improve the provision of management information across the group. This is a key appointment where you will be expected to regularly deputise for the FD and provide both strategic, commercial and financial support to key stakeholders and the business.   

Key duties include overseeing and providing insight into the preparation of the management and statutory accounts for two separate businesses, budgeting and forecasting, group cashflow forecasting, supporting the board and executive team within a changing environment and training and developing the finance function with a few recent appointments.

The successful candidate must be bright, commercially astute, results focused with an organised manner. You will be a proven leader with integrity, confidence and excellent interpersonal skills. Strong analytical and excel skills, the ability to add significant value in a changing environment and to influence and challenge at a senior level are a must. You must have experience of identifying opportunities to improve existing financial controls and implement appropriate changes accordingly.
