Financial Controller

My client, a successful and growing specialist SME distributor, has approached Howarth Morris to assist in the recruitment of a Financial Controller. Already an £18m turnover business, my client is expected to grow significantly over the next few years. As a result of this continued performance, the Board are seeking to appoint a competent Financial Controller to shore up their operations through establishing robust controls and processes. Furthermore, the Financial Controller will be tasked with developing a suite of MI reporting to further support business activities.

Reporting directly to the board of Directors, and based in modern South Manchester offices, the successful candidate will be joining a small and dedicated team. You will have the ability to self-manage, be professional in your approach, possess strong communication skills at all levels and be proactive in your approach. A 'hands on' remit, you will take full responsibility for the day to day running of the Finance department, whilst providing key support to the Board.

My client is keen to appoint a candidate who can hit the ground running. Your responsibilities will extend to financial and management reporting but will also focus on multi-currency, reconciliation of Ledgers and bank accounts, VAT returns, and cash flow forecasting. Due to the growth of the business, it is likely that the Financial Controller will appoint an Accounts Assistant. In this instance, you would also assume supervisory responsibility for them.

My client will consider candidates who are AAT Qualified, CIMA/ACCA Qualified or Qualified by Experience. Demonstrable experience of Excel is essential and knowledge of 'Priority' would be advantageous.
