General Practice & Tax Accountant

Northover & Co is a chartered practice in the Southampton area.  It is now looking to expand its tax & general accounts team due to steady growth and natural internal progression which is very much encouraged within the firm.

Experience and skills required:

• Full Time employee with a variance of skills and at 2 years’ experience in a Practice
• Highly experienced accountant, not necessarily qualified but QBE is essential
• Must be confident on the phone and in person to provide lower level advice to clients
• Candidate should be able to produce self-employed/ltd co accounts from records and take the job through to partner review stage
• Experience in managing a client portfolio  
• Experience of VAT, business and personal tax is essential
• Bookkeeping, tax returns and reconciliations
• Preparation of annual financial statements
• Payroll (not essential)
• High level of Excel experience is essential
• Exposure to Iris, QuickBooks, Sage and Xero
• Driver with own car is preferable
