One of the North West's fastest growing businesses, is looking to hire a recently qualified ACA as a first time Commercial Finance Manager to join its’ future management scheme in a role that will make a material contribution to the business’ growth.

Despite incredible growth in the last decade the business has still retained its dynamic SME feel that has allowed it to stay extremely agile and outmanoeuvre its competitors. As a result, it has grown to 1bn t/o, doubling in the last 4 years and it is now a market leading retail business, which has won multiple awards.

With ambitious growth plans and private equity investment the business invests heavily in a high calibre finance/commercial team and insists they are at the heart of all business critical decision making.

This environment places up and coming finance professionals at the heart of value creation, in broad and dynamic roles and provides them with the perfect platform from which to accelerate beyond their peers.

Over time responsibilities will include:

Management & Fianancial Reporting

- Preparing the month end management accounts pack, which include profit and loss, balance sheet, cash flow statement and KPIs
- Variance and trend analysis for consolidated company results and by site
- Management of accruals and prepayments
- Leading the balance sheet control account reconciliation
- Preparation and analysis of weekly P&Ls by site
- Review of weekly cash flow statement and cash flow forecasts

Budgeting and forecasting

- Leading the process of annual budget preparation and quarterly reforecasting
- Monitoring performance against budget monthly and quarterly by site

Other

- Manage a team of three junior analysts and accountants
- Assisting in the year end statutory audit process
- Working closely with operational manager to optimise performance, control cost and drive profitability
- Investment appraisal for future acquisition targets
- Continuously reviewing and improving finance processes and controls
- Other ad hoc projects as required by the senior management team

Successful candidates will be Big /Top 10 trained (newly qualified to 3 years post qual) and still in practice or looking for their second industry move. No specific experience is necessary, just the ambition to develop a broad set of skills and achievements, whilst contributing to the business’ success.
