Financial Controller

We are currently recruiting for a Financial Controller to join an Exeter based, international travel specialist. This is a part time role, 2 full days per week, and is an ideal position for a qualified accountant who is seeking a position where they work closely with the owner of the business, using their technical knowledge and commercial experience to provide accurate and insightful management accounts.

Duties to include, but not limited to:

• Production of monthly financial and management accounts
• Presentation and interpretation of the accounts to the business owner
• Statutory reporting: VAT returns, Payroll preparation, year-end and audit file preparation
• Industry specific compliance reporting
• Verification of transactional data

You will be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) ideally with experience of working in SMEs, with recent hands on management accounts production experience including VAT calculation/returns and exposure to basic payroll production. The monthly transactional tasks are completed in-house, leaving this person free to focus on providing clear and concise commentary and variance analysis to the financially astute directors. Exposure to more advanced computerised finance systems and the use of Excel Add-ins to extract data and report on the accounts would be beneficial.

Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 (Pro Rata) DOE
