Leading Banking organisation based in Edinburgh are looking to recruit a Head of Financial Crime to lead a team of two and to support the Head of Compliance.

Your new role

Working alongside the Head of Compliance you will be directly responsible for leading a team of two Financial Crime professionals. The team will achieve all SMF2017 responsibilities and you will support the business by providing a strategic and technical overview, as the Subject Matter Expert you will help to further develop the Financial Crime governance and control framework. Additionally you will be responsible for ensuring the business is compliant with Financial Crime policies whilst advising the 1st LOD in relation to the interpretation and implementation of the policies. This will also involve tracking issues, escalation and resolution of breaches. You will also get to provide support and advice on ad hoc assurance projects that will enable you to add value and improve process focusing on continuous improvement.

What you'll need to succeed

Ideally you will be a Subject Matter Expert in an minimum of two of the following areas: AML / Sanctions / Fraud / Anti-Bribery & Corruption. You will need to maintain a minimum of 7 years' experience in a direct line management position, advisory or consulting Subject Matter Experience or legal experience.

You will have experience within ICA, ACAMS, MLRO, Nominated Officer, CF11 or SMF17, preferably gained working within a Retail Bank coupled with a good understanding of the products offered. Given that this is a management position, you will need to demonstrate your ability to work across the wider business and will be able build good working relations with various stakeholders. You will be driven, proactive and strategic in your approach to your work and will take pride in adding value and improving process within the business. What you'll get in return

You will be offered a competitive salary £70-85,000 per annum and benefits package including a significant bonus structure. Additionally the organisation is able to offer flexible working including working from home one day per week.

The role will enable you to work within broad remit that will allow you to provide guidance across the whole business.
