Financial Analyst

To provide complex analysis of financial and non-financial data in both written and numerical form to support business decisions. This will involve effective use of budget control and modelling spread tools, financial accounting systems, as well as internal reporting systems to produce ad-hoc and pre-set monthly management information reports.

Key Responsibilities

  • Examining the product margin and looking at mark-up of product and external pricing.
  • Assist with the analysis of the product and pricing mix to identify trends and their causes, which can be shared with the Pricing Team to deliver improvements in Product Margin.
  • Support the monthly and annual planning cycle of business forecast meetings, to ensure pipeline data is accurately reflected in monthly revenue forecasts.
  • Prepare monthly and ad hoc internal reporting of pipeline data, sales forecast analysis and other associated Sales performance information as required.
  • Work closely with Directorate, senior business managers and budget holders to develop and maintain budgetary control. Working directly with senior business managers to provide early identification of potential overspends across their allocated areas and monitor mitigations to keep expenditure on track.
  • Represent the Finance Directorate at inter-departmental business meetings with peers and other external customers; provide direction and advice to all parties, make decisions and ensure the right approach is adopted to help achieve Encore’s financial requirements.
  • Establish and build upon strong, cohesive working relationships across the organisation.
  • Provide support to selected projects as assigned.

The Successful Applicant

As Financial Analyst you will need to possess the following skills and experience:

  • Qualified Accountant ( CIMA / ACCA)
  • Strong Excel and VBA skills
  • Self-motivated and driven to achieve highest outcome for the business 
  • Follow tasks through to ensure quality and productivity standards are met at all times
  • Ability to communicate clearly, including explanation of complicated finance processes to non-finance colleagues
  • Ability to organise, prioritise and monitor workload in order to meet tight deadlines
  • Coming from an environment of high volume sales would be an advantage
