In 2015 we transitioned from a privately owned company to a FTSE 250 business.

Our Commercial Finance team are also an inspirational bunch and they looking for an ambitious a Commercial Finance Business Partner to join them. Reporting to the Head of Commercial Finance, you will partner with multiple business areas including Marketing and Product Delivery squads. You will also work closely with and support the Commercial Finance Business Partners team and will deputise the Head of Commercial Finance when required.

One of your key responsibilities will be to provide insight and guidance to help drive performance in the areas you support. You will do this by using data to create relevant, accurate and insightful analysis that clearly conveys financial and business results. You will also combine internal and external information to predict performance to advise on key business assumptions, risks and opportunities. As a trusted business partner you will be embedded in the decision-making process and will objectively challenge and influence stakeholders to help drive decisions that are both commercially compelling and financially secure. 

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the marketing team with their £15m cost base. This will include supporting the team in planning spend, reporting success of campaigns and participation in quarterly governance reviews.
  • Involvement in the annual budgeting process. Including making robust plans for revenue numbers. 
  • Supporting the leadership team on significant cost items and headcount
  • Support Product teams commercially by owning revenue lines with product managers.
  • You will understand the product opportunity, it’s growth area and strategy and will help drive this by delivering relevant insight and reporting.  

To succeed in this role you will have commercial finance experience in a business-partnering role and will be able to demonstrate where you have added commercial value and shaped key business decisions.  You will be a qualified accountant that is a great relationship builder and influencer and will have a background of managing and inspiring multiple stakeholders. You will be quality focused and will have great attention to detail coupled with the ability to model data using excel. 

You will have the ability to explain and communicate financial performance to both finance and non-finance audiences. You will utilise your tailored communication style to make the complex things simple and will deliver great presentations and meetings that are engaging and productive.  You must also be driven by finding answers and will love asking questions. Using this curiosity, you will develop a deep understanding of the areas you support through both great questioning and proactive competitor and market trends research. Your curious approach will have resulted in you shaping strategic ideas and recommendations in your current or previous role.

We are a business that embraces change so you need to be able adapt quickly, whilst being able to meet deadlines and deliver ongoing projects. As we are an ever-evolving digital business, it would be great if you have experience working in the digital industry but this is not essential. You will also ideally have team management experience and coaching experience. Although direct experience in leading a team is not essential, it is crucial that you are passionate about people and their development. This role is will be based from our Manchester but the successful candidate will also need to spend time in our equally great London office. At present we expect travel to be once a week but this could vary depending on the business need.
