Reporting to the Managing Partner, the Director of Finance will also undertake a strategic role in the overall management of the firm as a member of the Management Board

The Finance Director will play a key role partnering the Managing Partner to deliver this growth target.

Detailed Job Description

Strategy

Contributing to the development and execution of the firm's strategy, with particular focus on ensuring that revenue and profits are supported appropriately with flexible and scalable resource.

Providing the senior management with insight into targeted and organic M&A looking at peer analysis and due diligence on potential targets

Business Analysis

Undertaking detailed profitability analysis to ensure informed strategic business planning and investment decisions are taken, such as allocating marketing resources, admitting new partners, determining optimal staffing levels and expanding into new practice areas or locations

Providing strategic recommendations to enhance financial performance and new business opportunities

Developing and implementing relevant financial metrics for monitoring the firm's financial performance

Financial & Accounting Management

Taking overall responsibility for the firm's finance and accounting function, through month end, year end, annual budgeting and the preparation and completion of the annual statutory accounts

Providing leadership to the Finance team in the delivery of an efficient, effective finance service to the firm as a whole in particular revenue generation through billing, cashiering, credit control and regulatory compliance

Ensuring management and development of financial policies, benchmarking, financial systems and processes in line with the firm's overall business strategy

Developing financial and tax strategies and ensuring the firm has an effective working relationship with tax and other statutory and legal authorities

Alerting the Managing partner to any financial issues, irregularities or non compliance.

Relationship management

Managing key relationships with auditors, banks, lenders and other professional advisers

Quickly establishing and maintaining credibility amongst the firm's members and presenting the annual accounts

Operations

Providing key input to the Managing Partner in respect of decision-making

Candidate's Profile

A highly credible and experienced leader, you will not only be an exceptional Qualified accountant with a hands on approach to company finances, you will also be a commercially astute strategic thinker who can confidently advise the Management Board on how to achieve their strategic goals.

You will have strong financial management skills (accounting and budgetary principles / processes, governance, high level numeracy and analytical skills) supported by an MBA or other relevant business qualifications.

Commercially astute, articulate and insightful, you will be an influential leader with an ability to operate at both operational and strategic levels. You will have an innate sense of positivity and drive.

Your experience will probably come from a UK centric environment. Exposure to Partnership culture; LLP would be an advantage.
