A highly acquisitive and rapidly growing Travel company based in West London seek a highly capable ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified Accountant to join them as Finance Manager. Reporting to the Financial Controller you will be responsible for preparing and delivering timely and accurate global reporting of the month end gross margin positions using an analytical and logical approach to derive clear conclusions from complex data sets for the Global Group.
The Group is currently made up of five trading entities across Europe, Australasia and North America. There are currently two brands within the Group and there is appetite for future organic and acquisition growth.
Role
Key activities:
- Accounting for global revenue, cost of sales and gross margin by revenue stream, entity and product and market source region, including related revenue recognition and cost of sales modelling, with empathise on detailed gross margin analysis
- Accounting for and reconciling all trip/tour related global balance sheet accounts including trade debtors, deferred income, prepayments and accruals
- Preparing, reviewing and reporting global trip/tour actuals, budgets, forecasts, KPI and weekly metrics including variances, insightful commentary and using dashboard reporting
- Become the finance function expert for operational software
- Delivering timely and accurate information and meeting tight deadlines
- Supporting quarterly VAT/TOMS returns
- Supporting creation and application of new accounting policies, system processes and reconciliations in rapidly changing business
- Providing support for additional ad-hoc finance projects the group undertakes
Role requires a sound knowledge of current accounting principles, IFRS and also the following:
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
- Advanced Excel
- Strong communication skills
- Experience of working in an international multi-currency fast paced business
- Ability to work to strict deadlines
Candidates with experience of gross margin analysis, hedge accounting and ERP systems would be preferred.
Role will report into the Financial Controller in London and may require some travel.
