Financial Controller

An exciting role in a fast paced business based in Harrogate for a diligent Financial Controller. This role will offer strong financial stewardship and the opportunity to support the Financial Planning and Analysis and commercial decision making. Leading the central finance team, this role sits firmly on the senior management team and will see through the development and aim to become the future Finance Director. This role will manage a small team and be responsible for:

• Establishing strong financial control and governance are in place for the group
• Position the business to potentially secure capital investment to support rapid growth
• Production of the groups management accounts
• Statutory accounts production for each group entity
• Cash flow forecasting and working capital management
• Liaison with the banks and other external stakeholders
• Support the board with commercial analysis and MI and presenting solution
• Strong balance sheet control

The background of the target candidate will be a qualified ACA accountant either from Big4/Top 10 or ACMA/ACCA from industry and commerce with suitable post qualified exposure in a broad encompassing role. A natural communicator capable of influencing and challenging without breaking the strong links between finance and operations is required. An excellent grasp of modern financial practices and hunger for change is high on the wish list as is the ability to pick up and implement new accounting systems. As a given at this level the incumbent will have excellent excel skills. Few roles boast having a clear pathway to become Finance Director with this much influence to position the group for significant change and to taker them through a period of such exciting growth.
