Head of Financial Reporting

Head of Financial Reporting required for a leading, Blue Chip Business based in Sussex.

This essential role will oversee the development of the finance function in order to meet the business's developing needs. The Head of Financial Reporting will be a role model across the business, as the right hand individual to the Head of Financial Reporting and Operations. The Head of Financial Reporting will have the opportunity to successfully lead nine direct reports, and will use previous managerial expertise to both nurture and challenge their team.

This varied role will offer you the chance to get involved with numerous projects on an ad-hoc basis. Core day-to day responsibilities will include:

  • Acting as the Finance Lead for both internal and external audits
  • Overseeing statutory, management, and financial accounting in accordance with agreed timescales and requirements.
  • Ensuring Balance Sheet control, reviewing and signing off on a monthly basis.
  • Managing the actuarial Solvency II reporting to agreed timeframes
  • Actively seeking out and implementing improvements, drilling down into financial control

You will need to be accurate, detailed and have a pro-active approach to problem solving. The business require a fully qualified (CA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA) Accountant, ideally trained in a top tier ("Big 4") Practice. Demonstrable previous experience of Financial Reporting and Insurance accounting from within a Blue Chip environment will support your application. An understanding of IFRS and UK GAAP will partner with an ability to drive business objectives and communicate effectively company-wide.
