Commercial Finance Manager

Morgan McKinley are recruiting for a Commercial Finance Manager to work closely with the Head of Operations, the Head of on line business, and the Group Finance Director to identify issues and opportunities to improve the profitability of the group. To proactively identify and actively ensuring actions are taken to maximise profitability.

Responsible for

• Driving the profitability of the business through detailed forensic analysis of the 290+ profit and loss accounts to identify issues and opportunities then with the Head of Operations and Operational Managers drive through actions and resolutions. Analysis needs to be effective and targeted.
• Preparing for and attending all the monthly review meetings with all Directors and Business Support Managers. Ensuring that all key financial issues are highlighted and discussed with clear actions to resolve and that actions are followed up by someone.
• Provide feedback from the monthly review meetings to the management accounting team to facilitate delivery of accounts to the required standard and accuracy.
• Working with the Head of online business to integrate new online acquisition
• Responsible for the design, implementation and monitoring of the the stakeholders Bonus scheme.
• Lead on developing investment cases
• Project work as allocated by the Group Finance Director or Head of Operations

Person Specification:

• Strong academically - educated to degree level and having completed their professional accounting qualification (CIMA or similar)
• This person should be several years post-qualification, with evidence of CPD
• Must have previous commercial finance experience
• Thrives in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment - flexibility is key
• Excellent IT skills including advanced excel, and confident on various management reporting systems
• Detailed understanding of the Financial processes to be able to identify issues and opportunities
• A questioning mind; this person should always be looking for where improvements can be made
• Will need to be happy travelling with occasional overnight stays as group is national.
